If you are from the Dakota City area or just love community festivals, you won't want to miss Cottonwood Days 2017. This coming weekend, August 18-20th is the 6th Annual Cottonwood Days in Dakota City, Nebraska. All events appear to be at Cottonwood Cove Park at Hickory & S. 13th in Dakota City, NE unless otherwise noted. Here is some of the fun you and your family can expect this weekend:
Fri 8/18
- 5-8pm cookout with burgers, hot dogs, popcorn, and chips
- 9:30pm outdoor movie
Sat 8/19
- food and craft vendors beginning at 8am
- tours of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church by the Dakota County Historical Association from 9am to 1pm
- 10am parade from American Legion hall on S 21st going down Brodway and ending at Cottonwood Cove Park
- 10am car show
- 11am Kids Zone opens featuring inflatables, games, and arts and crafts
- 11am Horsehoes and Volleyball tournaments
- noon-4pm Old Fashioned Games like water games and tire flipping
- 2pm Watermelon eating contest
- 4pm City Council vs Fire Department Corn Eating Contest
- 9pm-11pm Street Dance and performance by Locked n Loaded
Sun 8/20
- 8am-1pm breakfast at American Legion Hall
- 10:45am church service at Methodist Church
