Cottonwood Days 2017

If you are from the Dakota City area or just love community festivals, you won't want to miss Cottonwood Days 2017. This coming weekend, August 18-20th is the 6th Annual Cottonwood Days in Dakota City, Nebraska. All events appear to be at Cottonwood Cove Park at Hickory & S. 13th in Dakota City, NE unless otherwise noted. Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve 20th Anniversary Celebration

This Saturday, August 12th is the 20th annual celebration of Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve's official opening in 1997 as a South Dakota State Park and to the public as a center of learning, nature, history, and fun.  Steven Searls Adams and his family originally homesteaded the area in the 1870's, and his granddaughters donated the land to the State of South Dakota in the 1980's hoping it would be a place where children could learn about nature and where everyone could be refreshed. Sergeant Bluff is hosting their 42nd annual Pioneer Days festival on August 10-13th 2017 at the Sergeant Bluff Rec Complex (unless otherwise noted). How to save 7% with Iowa Tax Free Weekend

This Friday and Saturday is Iowa's annual Tax Free Weekend. To encourage customers customer to do their back to school shopping in Iowa stores, the State of Iowa has declared the first Friday and Saturday of August--Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th this year--to be tax free for clothes and shoes under $100 per item! Where can I shop ? Any store in Iowa that sells clothing or shoes should be participating! Online participation may vary but check with your favorites in case they are! What can I buy ? Any clothes or shoes, except shoes and equipment classified as sports gear are not included.
