New Pizza Hut Now Open at Lakeport Target!

If you're a regular shopper at the Target near Lakeport Commons shopping area, you've probably noticed that the Pizza Hut area has been shut down and under construction for a while. It is now open, with new decor, new seating, and delicious new menu items! I grabbed a snack there with my toddler and we were impressed with the new look and enjoyed our food quite a bit. Event Spotlight: Halloween at the Roundhouse

The Railroad Museum of Sioux City hosts this super fun event every Halloween, and this year has two weeks of fun planned! On Saturday October 24th and October 31st Siouxland families are invited to visit the  Railroad Museum   for free (there will be a free will donation, so be sure to look for a donation box or museum volunteer if you'd like to support this fun event and this great attraction in general) and enjoy a scavenger hunt, spooky stories, fun with pumpkins, costumed characters, mini train rides, and more, plus view the model trains and historical trains that are on display all year round at the  Railroad Museum . We have gone in past years and had a great time. We highly recommend this event for preschool and elementary school age kids in the Sioux City area!

Event spotlight: Briar Cliff Haunted Tunnels

Briar Cliff University is hosting a fun haunted house in the tunnels that connect many of their buildings next week on October 26-30th from 6-10pm and on Halloween from 6-9pm. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for kids, and $1 for Briar Cliff students with student IDs.  But the most exciting part of this event for families with young kids is family friendly hour! From 6-7pm each night, admission is only $1, the lights will be left on and no one will jump out at visitors. After that time, kids will be given glow sticks, but the lights will be off and characters may jump out at guests.  The entrance to the haunted tunnels is in Heelan Hall and proceeds go to CHOICES, a student group promoting healthy and safe choices for college students.
