Siouxland Kids Events in October 2015

Each month we will bring you info on events for kids in the Siouxland Area. If you know of one we have missed, please leave us a comment or send us an email. We will update our lists throughout the month as we hear of new events, so check back often for the latest scoop! 10/3: Fire Trucks: Kid's Building Event at Home Depot, 9am to noon, ages 5-12, pre-registration required
10/3: First Saturday Family Storytime: stories and activities all about apples, at the Sioux City Downtown library, 11am
10/3: We're in the Wrong Book Storytime at Barnes & Noble, 11am
10/3: "Lewis & Clark & Dinosaurs" workshop for kids with fossil crafts and discussion of 18th century paleontology, Lewis & Clark Interpretive center, 1pm, recommended for kids of all ages by th interpretive center. 

10/4: Open House at Sioux City Fire Rescue Stations, 1-4pm (see spotlight post for more details)
10/4: International Babywearing Week begins (see spotlight post for more details!)
10/6: Storytime at Perry Creek Library, 11am
10/6: I Need My Monster Storytime at Barnes & Noble, 11am

10/24: 20th Anniversary celebration at Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center featuring pumpkin decorating, feather painting, a scavenger hunt, campfire fun, music and a live bald eagle! 10am to 4pm
10/24: Halloween at the Roundhouse at Milwaukee Railroad Museum, 10am-4pm
10/24: Click, Clack, Boo! Storytime at Barnes & Noble, 11am
10/24: Trick-or-Treat event at area Hy-Vee stores including cookie decorating, coloring, pumpkins, and goodie bags, 1-4pm

10/27: Storytime at Perry Creek Library, 11am
10/27: Zombelina Storytime at Barnes & Noble, 11am
10/28: Storytime at Morningside Library, 10:30am
10/30: Trick-or-treat at Sioux City Ford Lincoln with plenty of candy and a special treat for parents, too,  8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. 
10/30: Costume Night Hike at Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center, 7pm, call to register
10/31: Halloween!

10/31: Mall-o-ween: kids in costume can trick or treat at the Southern Hills Mall from 6 to 8pm

10/3: Kids Club at Michael's craft store: harvest mobiles, 10am to noon, $2
10/3: Pumpkin Fest at Earl May with free face painting, pumpkin decorating, bounce house, hay rides, and more (pumpkins must be purchased however, and the horse rides may also cost money), 10am to 4pm
10/3: Sioux City Art Center Saturday Art Lesson: Autumn Collage, 10:30am to noon, $5
10/3: Fun Family Craft: Great Pumpkin Decorating event at Michael's craft store, 1pm to 4pm, free with purchase of $7 faux pumpkin
10/3: Sioux City Musketeers hockey vs Sioux Falls @Tyson Events Center, 7pm

10/4: Riverssance Renaissance Festival at Riverside Park, 10am-5pm
10/4: GiGi's Playhouse Down syndrome awareness walk at the Indian Hills shopping center (1551 Indian Hils) featuring kids activities and a silent auction, 1pm, $15 for adults, $10 for kids, free for people with Down syndrome. T-shirt included in registration. 
10/4: Sunday Family Fun Day at Sioux City Art Center, 1:30-2:30pm, $3-10 depending on project chosen
10/9: Sioux City Musketeers hockey vs Bloomington @Tyson Events Center, 7pm
10/10: Sioux City Art Center Saturday Art Lesson: India Design Painting, 10:30am to noon, $5
